A Genetic Algorithm for the Dynamic Management of Cellular Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems

AbstractGlobalization and rapid technological changes have led to increased customer requirements an intensified competition. To remain cost-efficient, manufacturing companies move from traditional systems towards flexible systems. Reconfigurable proven be effective way of adapting the rapidly changing market conditions. Although, increasing interest in this topic is visible academics industrial practice, research still limited. From point view, a fast easy adaptable solution for managing such system dynamically required. Based on optimization model, genetic algorithm dynamic management cellular reconfigurable was developed. A case study shows effects varying selection method, crossover operator, values occurrence mutation processes. The application resulted improvement around 3% compared best initial population. Random showed results respective case.
